Over a few weeks, I designed a pop up display for touring local trade shows. Trade shows can be a great way to network and reach a wider audience, and my profits will be used to support my art practice.
Work crates Geoff and I put together last month double as shelving and portable storage. The reclaimed crochet table cloths I snagged in Round Top create a nice backdrop for my display.
So..what the heck was I trying to sell?
Apothecary Aquariums: (Yes, I know they need a better title.) Carefully packed into vintage apothecary jars are one live algae ball, branch of dried seafan, bag of substrate, and pearl embellishments. Each is packaged in recycled paper and cotton twine. Quantities are limited; I obtained the apothecary jars during my Texas Antiques Week trek through Round Top. I'll be on the look out for more next season.
Mason Jar Oil Lamps: Lamps include hand braided cotton wick. Fill with your favorite oil. Let sit until wick is completely saturated before lighting. We filled ours with citronella oil to keep mosquitos away.
Keepsake Aquariums (Again..title...words..): Inspired by my Tiny Series. Some I crafted into necklace pendants.
